Esther Hone, Interventions Lead – Water Skills for Life, Water Safety New Zealand
Working with Gail and Leanne has been an absolute privilege. Their passion and enthusiasm for water safety have equipped us here at Water Safety New Zealand with the knowledge and tools to give swim teachers and school teachers the ability to teach vital water survival skills. Through simulated open water activities, students gain hands-on experience to navigate rivers, lakes, and beaches safely. By practising in controlled conditions—waves, clothing, currents—children build the confidence, skills, and knowledge to respond effectively in real-world situations, mastering essential survival skills such as calling for help, floating in challenging conditions, moving underwater to escape entrapment, and guiding others in difficulty.
Water Safety New Zealand wholeheartedly recommend engaging with Gail and Leanne. Their wealth of knowledge and experience ensures you will not leave empty-handed—your basket will be overflowing with engaging, thought-provoking information that can be put into practice straight away. Your students will achieve the necessary skills to stay safe, confident, and capable in any aquatic environment.
